The FY 2025 Body-Worn Camera Program helps publicly funded police and correction agencies start or grow body-camera programs. When used correctly, these cameras can provide clear evidence in criminal cases, record interactions between officers and the public, and help prevent attacks on officers. Only agencies that meet the eligibility rules (see the Eligible Applicants section) can apply for this funding.

the fiscal year (fy) 2025 body-worn camera policy and implementation program (bwcpip) supports publicly funded law enforcement and correctional agencies in establishing or expanding body-worn camera (bwc) programs. properly implemented bwc programs can strengthen the evidentiary foundation for criminal prosecutions, provide reliable documentation of officer-citizen encounters, and deter assaults on officers. please see the eligible applicants section for the eligibility criteria.
