Single Source: National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent to Adult (Add) Health Wave VII (U01 Clinical Trial Not Allowed)
Add Health is a long-term study that started in 1994-1995 with teens in grades 7–12, mostly born between 1976 and 1982. These participants are now in midlife, which lets researchers study what affects the risk of Alzheimer’s and similar diseases. This grant will support continuing surveys, home health visits, blood tests, and sharing the data. It will also improve Add Health as a large, representative resource to understand how experiences across life influence health differences and aging, especially related to Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.
Full Description
add health is a nationally representative, longitudinal cohort study of individuals primarily born from 1976 through 1982 who were first interviewed as adolescents in grades 7-12 (ages 12-19) in 1994-1995. add health respondents are now at midlife, offering a uniquely valuable timepoint to assess risk and resilience for alzheimers disease and related dementias (ad/adrd). this nofo will continue core study aspects including the mixed-mode survey, in-home health visit, venous blood collection, and data dissemination activities while further developing add health as a population-representative data resource to understand life course factors shaping inequities in outcomes related to aging and ad/adrd.
